Eastern North Carolina’s First Full-Service Green Restaurant
Regional Initiative – One Straw for a Cleaner World! 34° North Restaurant, is proud to be designated as Eastern North Carolina’s first full-service green restaurant. The restaurant has met or exceeded the standard for recognition in the NC GreenTravel Initiative as a green dining business.
NC GreenTravel Initiative
The NC GreenTravel Initiative has been created to recognize those businesses in the travel industry in North Carolina that have established and adhere to a set of guidelines that protect the environment. The initiative has been developed through a partnership of the North Carolina Division of Environmental Assistance and Customer Service; The Center for Sustainability at East Carolina University; Visit North Carolina and the Waste Reduction Partners program.
Plastic Ocean Project
34° North Restaurant is proud to be recognized as an Ocean Friendly Establishment with a Plastic Ocean Project. This is a self-regulated initiative, and restaurants are encouraged to ensure servers are educated and adhering to the initiative. To reduce plastic pollution, owners and managers of certified Ocean Friendly Establishments have agreed to only serve straws upon request. Please help us as we only offer straws upon request.
